• Braces consist of carefully-designed brackets that are attached to your teeth, and an arch wire that maintains necessary tension to gently reposition your teeth.
• Your treatment plan will be designed to gradually move your teeth into straighter positions while allowing the surrounding tissues and bone to reposition along with them.
• Because the brackets are bonded to your teeth, special care must be taken to avoid damaging them and preventing food from becoming lodged between them. Dr. Correa will discuss necessary dietary changes, as well as special hygiene tools to make cleaning your teeth and braces easier.
• From beginning to end, orthodontic treatment may take up to two years to complete, and you will have to attend periodic maintenance visits so Dr. Correa can adjust the braces, if needed.
